MIDDLE
CLASS RUT
HITS THE ROAD WITH FILTER;
“NEW
LOW” ADDED TO MTV ROTATION
AND “DISCOVER & DOWNLOAD” PROGRAM
October 26, 2010 -- Sacramento’s MIDDLE CLASS RUT--SEAN STOCKHAM
(vocals, drums) and ZACK LOPEZ (vocals, guitars)—has ventured
out on their first U.S. tour in support of their debut album, NO
NAME NO COLOR, which was released October 5 on Bright Antenna
Records through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group. The
duo’s trek—as openers for Filter--launched October 24
in Tyler, TX and lasts through November 12 in St. Paul, MN.
The first single, “New
Low,” has been added to radio stations across the country
including Sirius XM’s “Alt Nation” (Sirius 21/XM
47), Live 105 (San Francisco), Q101 (Chicago), 99X (Atlanta), KPNT
(St. Louis), KNDD (Seattle), KRBZ (Kansas City), KEXX (Phoenix),
WLUM (Milwaukee), WRZX (Indianapolis), 89X (Detroit), and many more.
"New Low" is now one of the most requested new songs in
Seattle, Kansas City, Tucson, Rochester, Albany, Detroit, Colorado
Springs, and Milwaukee. And as BBC Radio One’s Zane Lowe proclaimed:
"‘New Low sounds SO fresh...let's make history with Middle
Class Rut."
A video for the song
premiered on MySpace in September as part of their selective "Introducing..."
monthly program with FUSE. Now comes word that MTV2 and mtvU have
added “New Low” into rotation, and the song has been
added to the short list of artists that will be featured in the
next round of the prestigious “Discover & Download”
program. Fans will be able to download “New Low” for
free at http://www.mtv.com/music/discover_download/.
MIDDLE CLASS RUT’s
music artfully blurs the line between heavy and melodic, showcasing
the band’s skill for raw, energized rock and roll that is
equally complex and immediate. The record is enormous and rowdy,
propelled by the duo’s ability to make heavy music tasteful
and accessible. Opening number “Busy Bein’ Born”
represents the rest of the disc, setting a tone and pace for the
impassioned tracks that follow.
NO NAME NO COLOR
compiles 12 songs from a span of several years, showcasing a breadth
of time without ever losing its clear impression of cohesion. A
few tracks have appeared previously on the band’s three EPs,
which they released in 2007, 2008 and 2009, but the album as a whole
is a new construction that reveals a band with a unique creative
process. The majority of the songs have been tested on the road
during tours in the U.S. with Social Distortion, Them Crooked Vultures
and Alice In Chains, and in Europe with The Bronx and …And
You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.
As Alternative Press
raved: “There may only be two of them, but the amount of noise
Middle Class Rut make is phenomenal. Not only that, they’re
proof that you can stick to your guns, keep your integrity and still
be successful.”
