POWERMAN 5000’S “WILD WORLD”
#6 MOST ADDED TRACK AT ACTIVE ROCK RADIO;

‘DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY’ SET FOR RELEASE
AUGUST 1 ON DRT ENTERTAINMENT;

U.S. HEADLINING TOUR CURRENTLY UNDERWAY

July 14, 2006 -- Powerman 5000’s “Wild World” took radio by storm this week making it the #6 Most Added track at Active Rock radio according to Radio & Records, beating out new songs by AFI, Crossfade and Lamb of God. The track comes from the band’s highly anticipated DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY album, their fourth studio album and first for DRT Entertainment, due out August 1.

“Wild World” is quickly making its presence felt on various singles charts, including FMQB’s “Metal” chart where it’s bulleted at #24 and on CMJ’s “Loud Rock” chart where it’s bulleted at #32.

A video for “Wild World” was recently shot in a seedy downtown location in Los Angeles, CA. As described so eloquently on the band’s website, “Shot in a Los Angeles crack house with director Jeff Stewart, the clip is the ultimate anti-‘Cribs’ statement. Throw in a couple of hookers and some random acts of violence and a masterpiece is born.” Look for the clip to hit TV airwaves within the coming weeks.

With a new label and a new line up, DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY promises to be the most exciting Powerman 5000 release to date. The album was produced by Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack), who also co-produced the band’s major label debut, MEGA!! KUNG FU RADIO, and was recorded at the Hobby Shop in Eagle Rock, CA. The album was mixed by Dave Schiffman (Audioslave, Johnny Cash, System of a Down).

AOL Radio is currently spinning “Wild World” on their New Rock First channel and will be hosting a Listening Party of the full album the week of release.

On the touring front, Powerman 5000--Spider (vocals), Johnny Heatley (guitar), Terry Corso (guitar), Siggy (bass), Adrian Ost (drums)--is already in the midst of a U.S. headlining tour, which is set to conclude July 29. They’ll take most of August off before heading out once more starting September 6 in Sioux City, IA.

Even though August is technically a month off for the band, they won’t have that much time to breathe. They’re performing at Club NARM on August 3 in Kissimmee, FL at the Gaylord Palms Resort as part of the annual NARM convention. They’re also set to perform at an in-store at Tower Records in West Hollywood, CA on August 8 at 7pm, co-presented by Indie 103.1, to celebrate the album’s release and sign autographs for fans in attendance.

With this brash, new electrifying live band in tow the question still remained, could the new line-up now write a great album?

One listen to DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY, and the question is answered. From the T Rex meets Sex Pistols stomp of the title track, to the pure thrashed out fun of “Now That’s Rock ‘n Roll,” to the unapologetic pop hooks of “Wild World” and “Murder,” the answer is a resounding YES! Powerman 5000 has reinvented and revitalized beyond expectation. DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY marks the beginning of yet another unpredictable and no doubt anarchic chapter in the story of a band that seems to thrive and grow stronger with each passing rock ‘n roll cataclysm. Main man Spider wouldn’t have it any other way: “The entire history of this band has been filled with chaos and uncertainty, I’ve seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows. I’ve seen long time members disappear and record companies crumble. Though, through it all, the result has always been loud, obnoxious, uncompromising rock ‘n roll. If all the bullshit and drama helped me create this new record then I don’t regret a moment of it. DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY is our best yet.”
